ABOUT THE GAVIOTA COAST LIFESAVING ASSOCIATION

The Gaviota Coast Lifesaving Association is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Born out of the goal to make the Refugio Junior Lifeguard Program more accessible and support the Gaviota Coast Lifeguards, we’ve blossomed into something much greater.

We’ve expanded who we’d like to support - namely you, our greater Gaviota Coast Community Members, and the physical land (and ocean) we have the privilege to spend time at.

Trying to distill what we’re trying to do here into a succinct message proves a little too corporate for us. We have four main objectives:

- Support First Responders that serve the Gaviota Coast

- Bolster the Refugio Junior Lifeguard Program

- Engage and support the community centered around the Gaviota Coast

- Steward the land

We’re just getting started, but here are some examples of our mission in action:

- Bus pass assistance for Junior Lifeguard Families in need

- Equipment upgrades for Junior Lifeguard Program and Gaviota Coast Lifeguards

- Sponsor Annual Banquet

- Safety Demonstrations

- Sponsor continuing education

- Beach clean ups

- Community events & workouts
